Kissing Wooden Ladies: Joy Pockets #4

I'm so glad to be joining Mon at Holistic Mom for Joy Pockets again this week. I have been a little on the grumpy, out of sorts side, so I really needed this time to reflect on the joy that really was there through it all! Where did you find joy this week?

Expressing, once again, her love for wooden ladies
Watching the girl's contagious joy in learning new words, especially the word 'kiss.' Also, the witnessing and receiving of many of her sweet kisses.

Beginning to feel a real sense of the rhythm I've been seeking in our days.

Thoughtful friends and plants to tend with the girl. Also, the way she says "oregano."

Giving myself permission.

Alone time with the husband, without having to leave the house.

Rainy days, but not too many.

Skyping with both of my sisters on the same day, and more low tech ways of staying in touch with loved ones far away.

"Leo, Leo, Leo! Kiss? Hug?"

  1. That sense of rhythm is so important. I hadn't realized how much I'd come to depend on ours, naturally, until today, when it has been gravely upset. Sigh.

Thank you for sharing these moments!

  2. Thanks Melissa.  I'm going to start recording those moments too. B is very kissy at the moment too.  It is such a nice age, though of course it's challenging as a first time parent trying to make the right decisions all the time.  Must be hard as well away from your family.  We have no family around either.  Trying to get a rhythm/routine going helps a lot I think, even if you don't stick to it, it's always good to know what you "should"  be doing, so you can slip back into gear.
