I started a list of her words, but she's constantly reminding me of some I have forgotten. Last week, she started saying the names of two of my dearest Guam friends: Erica and Nicole, or "Er-kuh" and "'Cole."
This morning, I was wrapping up some work when Annabelle decided she needed to see the computer, so I thought I'd seize the opportunity to record some of her words before this stage of development passes us by. I'll share this gem with you following two disclaimers: I find it highly frustrating when people ask young children (especially Annabelle) to perform, "Say, ____!" "Give me ________!" I'm sort of going against my own rules here, but I also really wanted to capture this stage, so I went with it. Also, this was recorded minutes after we rolled out of bed. You'll be too distracted by Annabelle to look at me anyway, but if you happen to catch a glimpse...sorry?
Aside from those two major areas of interest, Annabelle has shown a recent drive to try on any and every pair of shoes she can find. When she gets together with friends, they trade shoes. In the closet, she tries on my and her daddy's shoes. At the store, there were some refrigerator magnets shaped like flip flops and she took two and placed them on the ground, then indicated that she would like to try them on. I'll leave you with some photographic evidence.
Mama's old work shoes, which the babe looked at and said, "yucky." |

I would love to know: What's new with your family this week?

Also, if you're into that sort of thing, remember that I have three giveaways open. You can enter to win: A pocket diaper from Linah Sora (US only), a pair of EcaPants (cloth training pants) from EcaWare Baby (worldwide), and a wool prefold belt from EC Wear (worldwide).
Melissa, Annabelle is so gorgeous. I love the sign and sound for water. I love the concentration too - who says that children have short attention spans!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, she has already found out about the (safe) regions of the internet! Cats and babies. Mainly cats.
ReplyDeleteThat video had me smiling thismorning. Annabelle is just so lovely. Ly dreams about dibbies (trucks). She mumbles, "dibby, dibby" in her sleep and heads to the window as soon as she's up to see if there are any dibbies on the street or gitties (cats) wandering about. I just love their little obsessions. For Ni it was clocks.
ReplyDeleteAnd we thought our generation was tech savvy! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well.
