The Babe, Lately

Annabelle is growing so fast, I can hardly keep up! I've been busy gabbing about other things around here lately and it's been awhile since I've talked about the happenings with her, specifically. During my parents' visit, she started standing on her own for a second or two at a time, but lately that's all she wants to do! She is now standing right up, without using anything to pull up on, and can keep her balance for about as long as she wants. 

She got that second tooth on the bottom in all the way, finally. The day before it finally broke through, the gum  above was extremely swollen, and a bit of it protruded such that it was as tall as the tooth beside it and looked like some sort of strange gum-tooth. This led to my worrying that I had failed my child and had not been getting adequate calcium, so her teeth had not developed properly. Obviously, she was destined to have weird gum-teeth and would never be able to eat solid foods. I even had a nightmare about it. Fortunately, the next morning, the gum tooth died and fell out, making way for the real tooth, which seems to have formed just fine. Annabelle has since graduated from her trainer toothbrush to the real thing.

She is still enjoying sharing meals with us, and loves her fruits and veggies. Broccoli seems to be the favorite so far, though she has not rejected a single thing. She grabs at anything I am cooking with and I generally allow her to taste it all, so she has had lemons, limes, onions, ginger, and even vinegar. She always goes in for a second taste! She is also still enjoying food as art just as much as something to eat. 

As for EC, Annabelle is rather busy, and she and the new daddy are getting used to one another, so we have at least two or three "misses" a day, but that's okay! Due to her newfound love of standing, it's hard to keep her on her little potty. Sometimes, she pees just in front of it after she springs up to a standing position, excited over a favorite page in the book that has been our bathroom reader of late. We're just following her lead, and it seems to be working out just fine!

And that's the latest! We're loving this girl more and more every day!
